The grand opening of the newly reimagined Pittsburgh International Airport is scheduled for Fall 2025. This historic event marks a major milestone in air travel, infrastructure, and innovation.

Community Open House

Saturday, October 11

The public is invited to get a first look at the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport during a special Community Open House. The event will be held Saturday, October 11 from noon to 7 PM. Registration is required and will open next week. The event is free and open to all ages.

The Community Open House offers a unique opportunity for community members to explore the state-of-the-art facility before it is fully operational. Visitors will be able to explore at their own pace and learn about the new terminal. There will be a variety of activities for all ages offering interactive, educational and hands-on activations.

PIT Integrated Public Trial

Saturday, September 20

Registration has now closed for the Saturday, September 20 PIT Integrated Public Trial. Individuals will receive an email by the end of the month advising if they have been selected (or not) for participation in this full-scale dress rehearsal.

We’re thrilled that so many Pittsburghers showed up (18,000+) and expressed an interest in participating and that 8,400+ of those Pittsburghers registered for the opportunity.

This full-scale dress rehearsal will re-enact what a typical day at PIT will look and feel like once the new terminal opens. It’s a voluntary opportunity to test, shape, and influence the new PIT experience before it officially opens. Watch for coverage of the event in Blue Sky News.

Transformed PIT Evening Gala

Mark your calendars! The gala to celebrate the transformed PIT will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025. More details about this unique event that Pittsburghers will be talking about for years to come will be shared in the coming weeks.
