Roadways
UPDATED as of September 1, 2025
Roadway Improvement Project Completed
On Aug. 22, ACAA completed the Landside Roadway Rehabilitation Project along the airport exit roads, which had caused lane restrictions. This project replaced and repaired concrete on a portion of Airport Boulevard and Return to Terminal Road. During roadway rehabilitation, lane restrictions were in place. This project and the corresponding lane restrictions were necessary to maintain roadway serviceability and public safety.
Changing Roadways at PIT
PIT’s transformation features changes to roadways on its campus to enhance clarity, simplicity and efficiency for travelers, visitors and PIT employees using ground transportation. Two roadway loops will define the big picture of getting around campus.
The design of PIT’s new roadways will allow for streamlined traffic flows to, from and across, the PIT campus. Using industry best practices for roadway design, navigation and signage, our solution will enable improved wayfinding that enhances the experience for everyone at PIT.
While there are no changes to entering the airport campus from Interstate 376 or State Road 576, once drivers pass “The Eagles” on Airport Boulevard, roadway changes will feature two loops:
- One larger loop that takes drivers directly to the new PIT landside terminal and encircles much of the campus.
- Airport Boulevard: PIT’s address, 1000 Airport Boulevard, will remain the same, but the location will shift from the current landside terminal to the new terminal. This is the larger loop roadway that encircles a large portion of our campus, allowing for drop-offs, pickups and circling if needed.
- A second, inside loop that runs between the Hyatt Regency Hotel and PIT’s Central Services Building.
- Aviation Avenue: This smaller loop—between the Hyatt Regency and Central Services Building—will be used for deliveries, shuttle services, and childcare drop-offs and pickups.
PIT is working with open-source location apps—such as Google Maps and Waze—to update our new roadway loops and associated addresses so that they’re ready on Day One.
Terminal addresses
As a result of the new terminal, new addresses have been assigned to the old landside terminal and other affected buildings across PIT campus.
The terminals at PIT will now have the following addresses:
- New terminal address is 1000 Airport Boulevard.
- Old landside terminal address is 201 Aviation Avenue
