Training
On Sept. 9, PIT will conduct a mass-casualty full-scale exercise in the new terminal involving an active shooter scenario. This opportunity to perform an emergency response drill in the new terminal before it’s occupied will provide additional insights for the safe, secure operation of the new terminal for first responders and ACAA staff. More details will be provided as the date approaches.
When we talk about training planned to open the new PIT, it falls into two categories:
- Tools and non-technical training: Activities and materials such as maps, quick-reference guides and hands-on demos will make sure all PIT workers are fully equipped to do their jobs in the new space.
- Operations and Maintenance Training: Team members working directly with new equipment or systems are receiving hands-on technical training provided directly by the vendors. The manufacturer of our new Baggage Handling System, for example, will provide training for Airline Services, TSA, our airline partners and ground crews.
