The project marks the airport’s first major redesign in decades and reflects more than ten years of planning and collaboration aimed at creating a smoother, more intuitive travel experience for passengers.
The new terminal’s design takes inspiration from the natural landscape of western Pennsylvania. Its sweeping roofline mirrors the region’s rolling hills, while tall, tree-like structural columns create an open, airy atmosphere in the main departures hall. The expansive atrium provides a bright and welcoming space for travelers checking in or beginning their journey.
