As airport and airline officials from around the world descended on Pittsburgh this week for a big industry conference, Pittsburgh International Airport’s new landside terminal was center stage.
The $1.7 billion project, which broke ground in 2021, isn’t yet open to the public, and it’s still in the final stages of construction. It won’t be open for passengers until sometime in the fall, but the terminal, which is about 90% completed, was finished enough to play host to the opening night reception of the Future Travel Experience World Innovation Summit 2025, which for a third year is being held at PIT and Carnegie Mellon University.
