Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 11, 2025, for its new $1.7 billion state-of-the-art terminal ahead of its entry into service. The event, which was attended by around 300 guests, including Pennsylvania’s governor Josh Shapiro, marks the start of the countdown towards the new terminal’s public opening, slated for November 2025.

Pittsburgh’s new terminal already underwent its first public trial on September 3, 2025, in which some 300 participants tested the airport’s different services and procedures in near real-life conditions. A second public trial will take place before the official inauguration.
