Pittsburgh International Airport is getting closer to opening its new terminal. The airport is giving visitors a chance to walk through it before it officially opens to the public with an open house on Oct. 11. The open house will allow you to explore the new landside terminal at your own pace.

Registration for the free event opens next week. This comes as the airport prepares for a trial on Sept. 20. That event is to simulate an actual day of passenger traffic in the airport, with volunteers given instructions for roleplay, such as arriving to fly out or just landing for arrival. Some will be instructed to arrive at the departures curb, stop at ticket counters, go through the security checkpoint, and then through the signature bridge tunnel that leads to airside.
