Pittsburgh International Airport held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday for its brand-new, $1.7 billion terminal. Dignitaries from all across the region gathered to celebrate, calling this a game-changer. “This project started over a decade ago, and we were forced to confront the fact we lost our hub and 70% of the revenue that hub was generating,” said Rich Fitzgerald, former Allegheny County executive.

The new terminal is an upgrade years in the making, and it’s just about ready to welcome the public. “What we’re celebrating is a state-of-the-art transportation hub that’s worthy of a great city, that’s worthy of a great state,” said Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA).
