The new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is almost ready for business, but before the ribbon-cutting, the airport is holding a “dress rehearsal” of a normal day in operations. The event will have up to 2,500 volunteers trial the new systems and spaces to ensure a smooth opening day. The airport has reportedly received confirmed interest from at least 18,000 people in the area. The $1.5 billion USD project began in 2021 to modernize and streamline the terminal. If the dress rehearsal goes off without a hitch, the grand opening is right around the corner.

The renovation program provides weekly updates on the airport website, with the latest showing that more site visits have begun as the project nears completion. The new PIT terminal is 92% complete, according to a CBS News report. The airport authority claims an economic impact of $2.5 billion and 14,300 jobs as a result of the project and supply chain support.
