On Oct. 11, Pittsburgh International Airport cut the ribbon on its new $1.7 billion terminal, slated to open to the public later this fall. The new terminal broke ground in 2021 and, once open, will serve as the airport’s transition from a hub of connecting passengers from around the country to an origin-and-destination airport tailored to better serve the Pittsburgh market.
The airport’s new terminal coincides with increased air service. The new terminal includes four outdoor terraces (two pre-security and two post-security), allowing travelers the chance to enjoy some fresh air.
