Pittsburgh International Airport’s new $1.7 billion terminal is nearly ready for a timely landing. The terminal is now around one month away from reaching “substantial completion,” or the 92% to 93% completion of construction that it needs to open, said the airport’s Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer Paul Hoback.

But it’s not quite ready for prime time. Beginning in late June and continuing for several months after, officials will evaluate the new terminal to find flaws that need to be addressed, Mr. Hoback said. “We want them to try to break the system so we can completely test it to make sure it’s ready for opening day, and so we can make sure we get all the kinks out,” he said.
