After years of preparation and construction, the public is finally getting its chance to see the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport. Registration has begun for those who would like to get a sneak peek at the redesigned center that combines elements of the airside and landside terminals and eliminates the need for the infamous people mover trains between them.

The free event will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Oct. 11. Complimentary parking will be provided. Registration is required, and space is limited. According to the airport’s news blog Blue Sky News, the open house will welcome 1,500 people an hour for the opportunity to see and explore the new pre-security terminal before it opens to travelers.
