The brand new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport is finally here, the culmination of an almost decade-long journey to transform the passenger traveling experience. On October 11th 2025, the terminal completion was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by an open house for the public. During the ceremony, several elected officials gave remarks, including Senator Dave McCormick and Governor Josh Shapiro. Congressmen, council members, house representatives, senators, and executives all gathered to commemorate the gorgeous new airport terminal.

Vince Gastgeb, ACAA Chief Government & Corporate Affairs Officer, stated in his opening remarks that this new terminal is made ‘for Pittsburghers by Pittsburghers.’ This sentiment was repeated by many during the ceremony to highlight the importance of partnership and community when it comes to new projects like this. In fact, over 90 percent of the labor and supplies are locally sourced, according to the CEO of Alleghany County Airport Authority (ACAA), Christina Cassotis.
