United Airlines is adding daily service between Los Angeles and Pittsburgh beginning March 29. It will be the first time United has flown the route since 2014, and it will be on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The nonstop, Flight 1349, will leave Pittsburgh at 6:15 p.m. and arrive at 8:49 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. The inbound flight leaves Los Angeles International Airport at 9 a.m. local time and arrives at Pittsburgh International at 4:44 p.m., according to United’s website. It is a five-and-a-half-hour flight across three time zones. The aircraft has 16 UnitedFirst seats.
The new service from United will make the route even more competitive. American Airlines began flights between PIT and LAX in April 2025 with daily service on Boeing 737-800 aircraft and a total of 172 seats. Breeze Airways, a low-cost carrier, also offers service although not daily and began in 2023 on a smaller, Airbus A319 aircraft.
This is the latest new-route announcement since Pittsburgh International Airport’s new terminal, which opened in November. Following that was a new Aer Lingus flight.
