The grand opening of the newly reimagined Pittsburgh International Airport is almost here, but first, they need to do a test run — and are looking for volunteers. The Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) is looking for volunteers to take part in a public trial to test the transformed Pittsburgh International Airport before its grand opening this fall.

The project is years in the making. Plans to reshape the future of Pittsburgh International Airport were first announced on Sept. 12, 2017. On Oct. 14, 2021, PIT broke ground on the airport’s Terminal Modernization Program, a new [$1.7] billion terminal intended to “right-size” the airport and focused on public health, sustainability and innovation.
