Pittsburgh International Airport is gearing up to open its new terminal in a few months, introducing 20 new food options that include locally owned businesses to enhance the travel experience. Cafe Conmigo, a locally owned coffee shop, is among the new additions. Owner Derek Davies said his shop aligns well with the terminal’s theme, which includes green space and natural lighting. “We have a lot of plants everywhere, and the airport will also have that with outdoor green spaces as you can see,” Davies said.
He added that Cafe Conmigo inspires a feeling of a global community, making it a perfect fit for the airport. “Our environment is to influence people to be open minded, to travel, to learn more, and you kind of see that through our design, so I think that we identify and align pretty well together,” he said. Another local favorite, Mineo’s Pizza Shop, is also headed to the new terminal.
