Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is the first airport to be awarded the Universal Design Certification for the University at Buffalo’s Center for Inclusive Design and Environmental Access (IDEA Center).
Universal design is a design principle focusing on all aspects of the human experience, taking accessibility into consideration for all people as a building or space is being designed, from considering pregnant women and the elderly to children and the differently abled.
