Tuesday morning’s predawn opening of the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport went off without a hitch, with the first passenger through the gate at 2:35 a.m. and the first flights arriving and departing a little more than three hours later.

“It’s gone really well,” said Christina Cassotis, president and CEO of the Allegheny County Airport Authority, about three hours after the order to close the old terminal and open the new terminal one. “We trained. We trialed. We had two separate public trials.”
